Description for Pendant

This reversible oval pendant carries two beloved French Catholic devotions in one timeless piece.

On one side is the Auspice Maria symbol—an elegant interlaced “A” and “M” beneath a royal crown. The Latin phrase Auspice Maria means “Under the protection of Mary,” a comforting reminder that our Blessed Mother walks with us in every trial and joy. This Marian cipher was used widely throughout French Catholic art, especially during the 19th century.

On the reverse is the tender image of Our Lady of Lourdes, standing amid roses beneath a crown of stars. It recalls the Marian apparitions to Saint Bernadette in 1858, where the Virgin revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception. The Lourdes image remains a source of hope, healing, and consolation to millions.
